Graham Holman
Graham qualified in 2003 from the University of East London. He began his career working in the NHS at Oldchurch Hospital in Romford and also worked at Harold Wood, Barking and St George's Hospitals, none of which are still standing, which he hasn't taken too personally!
Graham has been working privately at Havering Therapy Centre since 2007 but has also worked at other clinics in the area as well as being the first team Physio at Brentwood Town FC from 2016 to 2019.
Graham grew up in Grayshott (Hampshire) before moving to Essex following University. Growing up, Graham enjoyed playing all sports, but particularly football and tennis. He is now happily married and has 3 boys (including twins) who keep him busy when he is not at work.
Graham works at the clinic on Monday, Tuesday (evening), Wednesday, Friday and Saturday (morning). Graham is registered with the HCPC and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Christina Holman
Christina qualified in 2005 from Oxford Brookes University. Following her studies Christina worked in several different Physiotherapy specialties at Newham General Hospital and Barking Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust. She then specialised in Musculoskeletal Outpatients and worked at West Essex PCT/SEPT in both Loughton and Epping, where she was the Team Lead for the Epping MSK Outpatient Team. She has also worked at Havering Therapy Centre since 2012 and left the NHS in 2016 to further pursue her private work.
Christina grew up originally in East London but has lived in the local area ever since. She had a love for all sports growing up but particularly Netball to which she played at both club and county level. She is now happily married and has three young lads which keep her extremely busy on the days she isn’t in the clinic.
Christina works on Mondays and Wednesdays and is registered with the HCPC and CSP. Christina enjoys treating all musculoskeletal injuries, but also has an interest in Pilates, pre and post partum and sports injuries.
Val Nettlingham
Val has over 30 years experience as a chartered physiotherapist, working in the NHS and later in private practice. She has a wide range of experience treating a great variety of conditions, always aiming to help people stay as pain free and mobile as possible to help them enjoy life.
After qualifying from The Royal London Hospital School of Physiotherapy she gained experience in the NHS specialising in treating Out-patients particularly orthopaedic conditions, post-surgery repairs and joint replacements, back and neck pains, rehabilitating patients back to fitness and function. She then went on to run and expand The Royal London Hospital Sports Injury Clinic helping to develop and teach on a Sports Diploma qualification for Doctors and Physiotherapists.
Having a keen interest and participation in sport, Val has worked and travelled with a number of different sports teams – football, athletics, hockey and water polo and also been Team Physiotherapist at Major Games.
Val has been involved in working with junior international golf squads, liaising with PGA professionals, assessing and developing golf specific exercise programmes to enhance playing and prevent injuries.
She has always enjoyed playing sports, particularly hockey, playing for many years in a club team. She has now changed to golf and looks to improve her game as much as possible!
Val also enjoys skiing and goes as often as possible – and has managed to stay in one piece!!
Val works at the clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She is registered with CSP and HCPC
Maura Thursting
Maura is a highly experienced physiotherapist and trained at Guys Hospital in London and has over 30 years experience working in the NHS, private hospitals, sports clubs and private clinics. Maura has had extensive post graduate training in musculoskeletal treatments, sports injuries, manipulative and soft tissue therapy and orthopeadics. She has been qualified in acupuncture for over 10 years and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Maura has a holistic approach to physiotherapy which enables her to provide highly personalised treatment to each patient relieving pain and facilitating healing. Accurate and specific assessment and diagnosis allows Maura to plan the most effective treatment for each patient.
Maura is able to offer treatments to patients in the home environment especially patients with mobility problems, musculoskeletal and orthopaedics conditions. She has a special interest in treating the elderly and the rehabilitation of patients following falls and post surgery.
Outside of work Maura likes to keep fit and attends the gym on a regular basis doing classes such a spinning, pilates and circuit training. She also attends boot camp and enjoys running and cycling.
Maura works in the clinics on Tuesday and Thursday and arranges home visits directly with the patient. Maura is registered with HCPC and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Chris Strutt - Physiotherapist
Chris Qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1997 from Brunel University. Over the last 23 years he has worked in both the NHS and private settings. By working in these different settings Chris has developed and maintained a wide clinical interest covering multiple conditions. This has supported his philosophy of treating individuals well being in an integrated way, supporting their recovery from acute injury, surgery or chronic illness.
Chris has developed unique expertise in fatigue management whilst managing a national Chronic Fatigue (CFS/ME) and movement disorder centre. He also worked for many years in a Rheumatological service that treated a wide variety of inflammatory and chronic pain conditions.
He now primarily uses the skills developed in these areas to treat and manage symptoms that people experience related to post viral illness such as Long Covid, CFS/ME, Rheumatological/inflammatory conditions, chronic pain, and other complex health conditions.
Chris uses a variety of treatments such as manual Physiotherapy techniques, acupuncture, taping, graded exercise, brief intervention cognitive behaviour techniques and motivational interviewing to promote improved patient care and outcome. Chris has completed a variety of courses to complement and enhance his knowledge and maintain professional standards.
With long experience within the NHS Chris has insight into care pathways and rehab services. Chris brings this experience into both his clinic and domiciliary work. This allows him to work in partnership with patients, families, care providers and GP’S supporting, initiating, and if necessary referring onwards to other health and care providers.
Chris is a keen cyclist having competed in a number of long-distance amateur cycling events over the years both in this country and abroad. He is also enjoys golf, walking and gardening.
Chris works at the clinic on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and does home visits throughout the week.
Chris is a member of Chartered society of Physiotherapists and is HCPC Registered.
Angela Long - Paediatric Physiotherapist
Angela qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1998 from King’s College London. She is from Brentwood originally but spent her childhood living in France. She returned to Essex as a university student and hasn’t left since.
After qualifying, Angela worked at Whipps Cross Hospital where she completed her junior rotations working with adults and children. In 2001 she started her first Paediatric post in Havering working in the community, treating children with a wide variety of conditions. She started to take a keen interest in Paediatric Musculoskeletal conditions at this stage. In 2003, Angela got the opportunity to work a short-term contract at Great Ormond Street Hospital where she carried out senior rotations in Respiratory and Orthopaedics. Between 2004 and 2014, Angela helped develop and was lead Physiotherapist for the under 16s Paediatric Musculoskeletal service within the Paediatric Therapy Service for Havering.
Angela left the NHS in 2014 to extend her family and has worked in Private Practice since 2016, joining Havering Therapy Centre in 2020. She now treats babies/children and adolescents, covering congenital, developmental, musculoskeletal (including post-trauma, post-operative orthopaedic surgery and sports injuries) and rheumatological (including persistent pain and hypermobility) conditions. She has completed various specialised Paediatric courses, a module in Contemporary Pain Management at the University of Hertfordshire and various APPI Pilates training courses.
Her treatment is always child-centred, communicating with other services known to the child, including education, where relevant, so that the child experiences a holistic approach.
Growing up Angela played hockey and danced. Outside of work, she now enjoys the theatre, music, photography and walks over the forest with her family.
Angela’s hours at the clinic are flexible as she works around her family’s busy schedule. She can offer after school appointments and also home visits for the younger children. She is registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists.
Shruti Jadhav - Physiotherapist
As a qualified Physiotherapist, Shruti uses her deep understanding of human anatomy and physiology to treat her clients in a friendly approach, she is a good listener, empathetic and realistic in her style. Shruti is a hands on Physiotherapist who also employs remedial massage and dry needling into her treatments.
Shruti has experience working for private clinics, private clients, and sports teams, she will adjust her therapeutic style and techniques to provide treatments that can help each client to get back to their functional abilities in their way.
As a Physiotherapist, she specialises in the treatment of all age groups and musculoskeletal conditions along with injury prevention, occupational health, and sports rehabilitation.
Shruti is a registered member with the HCPC.
